OPINION 

WHY ATIKU ABUBAKAR SHOULD STEP FORWARD AND SALVAGE NIGERIA 
         (ATIKU FOR ONE NIGERIA)

At each stage of its development Nigeria had faced a peculiar challenge. At this stage the key problem is division, along ethnic, religion and regional lines, that is threatening the corporate existence of the country.
The present leadership clearly, is either favouring one ethnic group against the others or favouring one religion against the others or favouring one region against the other regions. This has never happened in the history of Nigeria.
When Notherners were in-charge, to a large extent there was inclusivity. All ethnicity, religion and regions were duly represented and involved in the administration of Nigeria, unlike today.
The question now is, who will savage the situation or will salvage Nigeria at this critical moment of nationhood? Nigeria is in dire need of a Situational Leader.
The man standing and remaining, who fought for democracy, worked and learned from the proponents of one Nigeria (including the Yaradua's, President Obasanjo, etc) is the former vice president Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. 
It is only in Atiku's camp that all the ethnicities, religions and regions are fully represented and voices heared. Adamawa State is calm today because of Atiku's initiative.
Let us keep sentiment aside and encourage Atiku Abubakar to rescue Nigeria. All the other opposition candidates have a skeleton of unity in their cupboards but not Atiku.

The former Middle School Yola has under gone several mutations in nomenclature. Starting as the Middle School, a male boarding senior primary school in 1920 it metamorphosed to a secondary grammar school with a broader curriculum. It was established initially to give western education to the citizen of the province and beyond. The aims and objectives were expanded to provide the man power needs of the colonial administration and that of the soon to be independent Nigeria. TIDDO YO DADDO NATIONAL ALUMNI ASSOCIATION CENTENARY CELEBRATION OF GMMC YOLA: THE UNFORSEEN HAPPENED. THE DEFERMENT TO March/April, 2022. The attention of the AD-HOC LOC was drawn to serious technical problems which nacessitate the deferment of the December  20th to 22nd, 2021 date fixed by the Congress. This did not come as a surprise as Adhoc LOC found itself face to face with the realities of phase 2 different from phase 1 where endowed alumni members responded beyond expectations to our calls to upgrade the school facilities hitherto in ruins, to give the 100 year old iconic school a facelift in line with its centenary Celebrations.  While we were on phase one, Adhoc LOC was very concious of time and drew attention of our Endowed alumni to collaborate, cooperate, sponsor events, donate funds, and avail their expertise from time to time for the phase two finals, but feeble attention was given to it. ATTENTION: PHASE TWO OF THE 100 YEARS CELEBRATION. The Phase two of the centenary celebration of the iconic school, (for the benefit of the elder alumni), the former Elementary School,  the Middle School, the Provincial Secondary School, PSS Yola, then the Government Secondary School, GSS Yola and now General Murtala Muhammad College, GMMC Yola, which will be the crowning series of activities to mark the 100 years of the great school, is scheduled to be held in the last week of December, 2021. The fears expressed on the probable return to the 1966 scenario of doom and uncertainties hanging in the atmosphere, the absence of trust and confidence in the next person with you or near you if he happened not to be from your region or your tribe or religious persuasion. In 1966 the atmosphere was charged and people were looking over their shoulders in order not to miss any happenings. First, I was in Gambe Village on the 15th of January when the sudden and unexpected news of the killing of the Sardauna Sokoto, the Premier of the Northern Region was announced over the Radio Kaduna.
