Afactional president of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) backed by Seyi, President Bola Tinubu’s son, Comrade Olusola Oladoja, has announced that the association's new national secretariat building will be named after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Oladoja made this known on Wednesday during his inauguration in Abuja, on Wednesday, where he unveiled plans for the construction of a new student complex and laid out his administration’s agenda for Nigerian students.
He added that being elected as the national president of NANS is not just a personal honour but a "sacred duty" entrusted to him by millions of Nigerian students.
He revealed that the new secretariat — dubbed the "Student House Project" — will include two conference rooms and 25 hotel rooms and will be named after President Tinubu.
“NANS currently operates from hostels and unsuitable environments. That is not acceptable for an organisation of this stature. Today, we break that chain. We officially launch the Student House project, a befitting structure named in honour of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Oladoja announced.
Oladoja praised President Tinubu’s administration for what he described as unprecedented stability in the education sector.
“For the first time in our academic history, Nigeria has recorded two uninterrupted academic years without any strike action — thanks to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Renewed Hope administration,” he said.
He further commended the government’s introduction of the student loan scheme under the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), urging students to apply.
“There is no reason why any genuine student should drop out in Nigeria. Apply for NELFUND and you will be granted not just tuition support but also a monthly stipend for upkeep,” Oladoja added.
He expressed gratitude to supporters of his emergence as factional president of NANS.
That's the Latest
Previously, SaharaReporters reported that a factional NANS president, Comrade Atiku Abubakar Isah, had been allegedly attacked by thugs linked to Seyi Tinubu, who violently disrupted the NANS inauguration ceremony held on Tuesday in Abuja.
The attack also reportedly targeted political figures at the occasion, including former Minister of Education and two-term Governor of Kano State, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau, and former Governor of Kogi State, Captain Idris Wada.
Speaking to SaharaReporters on Wednesday, Atiku narrated that the attackers, armed with cutlasses and guns, stormed the venue — The Wells Carlton Hotel in Abuja — in a coordinated assault that left several attendees injured and many robbed of their phones and personal belongings.
“At the inauguration hall which I personally paid for at The Wells Carlton Hotel, Asokoro, Seyi Tinubu arrived with a large number of security men and ordered them to stop the event,” Atiku said.
“The management of the hotel informed me about the interference, but I decided to go ahead with the inauguration. Immediately after we were inaugurated and Senator Shekarau began his speech, Seyi’s thugs entered the hall, wielding guns and cutlasses. They stopped the senator, began stabbing people, and chased others away, snatching phones and valuables in the process.”
Atiku further alleged that the attack was premeditated, linking it to an earlier attempt by presidential aides to silence him with a bribe.
“Before the day of the inauguration, Seyi had asked the Senior Special Assistant on Students and Youth Affairs to lure me into silence with money. I was told he was ready to offer me N100 million. My refusal to accept the bribe led to the attack yesterday,” he said.
“When Seyi’s thugs, led by one Ladoja, came in with machetes and guns, they beat people and injured many. Nigerians should beg Seyi to spare my life.
“They attacked Senator Shekarau, the former Minister of Education, and Captain Idris Wada, the former governor of Kogi State. Fortunately, both of them were whisked away by their security details. I, however, was taken to an unknown location after being beaten and injured.”
The Northern Nigeria Perspective observes thus:
1. The emerging sad scenario of the Nigerian State; it's Politics, Arrogance, Mentoring of Corrupt Youths (NANS), Deception and a call for anarchy. We observe sadly Comrade. Atiku Abubakar Isah who claimed to have been the rightfully elected NANS President an was allegedly invited to Lagos by Seyi the President son and offered a ₦100 million. For what?. To which he refused and as a result he was abducted on the 15th of April beaten, striped naked and bundle to a Media house for him to denounce his NANS Leadership position.
2. On Wednesday 30th of April Comrade Olusola Oladoja similarly appeared on the scene announcing his factional leadership of the same NANS. He went ahead to announce the construction of a planned new NANS Secretariat to be named after President Bola Ahmad Tinubu and further enticed Nigerian Students to apply for Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND). He was allegedly backed by Seyi Tinubu.
The Poser
1. Who is Seyi Tinubu?
2. Has the President Democratically/Officially Appointed his son Seyi Tinubu into any office in the country?
3. Can Atiku Abubakar Isah's Allegations be swept under the carpet and that's all?
4. Should Nigerian Students and the General Public accept the Factional leadership of Comrade Olusola Oladoja wholeheartedly?
These and others are the Posers for Nigerians.
