👉Nigerian politicians are a special breed created by Allah and made to be insatiable. This month is just half way in the tenure of our ‘elected’ representatives to various offices and they are already positioning themselves for next election that will not be due till the next 21 months (Q 3 v 26)! They do not believe the words of Allah that He can take anybody’s life at any time, the state of health of the individual notwithstanding (Q 33 v 63). Instead of concentrating on service delivery that will write their names in our hearts (Q 17 v 7), they are busy planning for where they want to be in 2027, including those of them that will not be alive then. They should all fear Allah and worship Him, per chance Allah will show them Mercy (Q 26 v 68) and forgive them their sins and transgressions (Q 23 v 118). 
Crime and punishment are opposite sides of the same coin. If appropriate punishment follows the commission of crime in real time, potential criminals will think more than twice before committing crime. In Nigeria, criminals like Bandits, Kidnapers, embezzlers, rapists, etc, when caught are kept in custody for sometimes for the society to forget them, and then released to continue their atrocities on innocent members of the public. How else can you explain a situation where a former Governor of Central Bank who forfeited 753 houses acquired criminally, among other things, is still walking on the surface of the earth, clutching Bible (Q 41 v 51); a man in charge of retirees pension Fund stole Billions of Naira and was just imprisoned for 7 years; bandits who were slaughtering innocent citizens were designated as ‘repentant’ after few months and released back to the same society; Directors of Banks that took humongous loan from their banks and refused to pay back, leading to failure of such banks, only to start new banks; people caught importing sub-standard drugs that will lead to death of innocent citizens; etc, etc, etc. (Q 5 v 100). In saner societies, such people are executed, even if caught several years after the crime. In China, Japan, Indonesia, and several other Asian countries, such criminals are executed in real time. Criminals do not believe in the existence of Allah (Q 2 v 281), not to talk of day of accountability (Q 2 v 86). Allah assured humanity that everybody will get what they deserve (Q 39 v 70). Let our leaders fear Allah and dispense justice as appropriate in real time in order to decrease the rate of crime.

💯100 YEARS OF GMMC YOLA. By next year, 2020, the school, General Murtala Muhammad College (GMMC) Yola will clock one hundred years of its establishment. The former Middle School Yola has under gone several mutations in nomenclature. Starting as the Middle School, a male boarding senior primary school in 1920 it metamorphosed to a secondary grammar school with a broader curriculum. It was established initially to give western education to the citizen of the province and beyond. The aims and objectives were expanded to provide the man power needs of the colonial administration and that of the soon to be independent Nigeria. TIDDO YO DADDO NATIONAL ALUMNI ASSOCIATION CENTENARY CELEBRATION OF GMMC YOLA: THE UNFORSEEN HAPPENED. THE DEFERMENT TO March/April, 2022. The attention of the AD-HOC LOC was drawn to serious technical problems which nacessitate the deferment of the December  20th to 22nd, 2021 date fixed by the Congress. This did not come as a surprise as Adhoc LOC found itself face to face with the realities of phase 2 different from phase 1 where endowed alumni members responded beyond expectations to our calls to upgrade the school facilities hitherto in ruins, to give the 100 year old iconic school a facelift in line with its centenary Celebrations.  While we were on phase one, Adhoc LOC was very concious of time and drew attention of our Endowed alumni to collaborate, cooperate, sponsor events, donate funds, and avail their expertise from time to time for the phase two finals, but feeble attention was given to it. ATTENTION: PHASE TWO OF THE 100 YEARS CELEBRATION. The Phase two of the centenary celebration of the iconic school, (for the benefit of the elder alumni), the former Elementary School,  the Middle School, the Provincial Secondary School, PSS Yola, then the Government Secondary School, GSS Yola and now General Murtala Muhammad College, GMMC Yola, which will be the crowning series of activities to mark the 100 years of the great school, is scheduled to be held in the last week of December, 2021. The fears expressed on the probable return to the 1966 scenario of doom and uncertainties hanging in the atmosphere, the absence of trust and confidence in the next person with you or near you if he happened not to be from your region or your tribe or religious persuasion. In 1966 the atmosphere was charged and people were looking over their shoulders in order not to miss any happenings. First, I was in Gambe Village on the 15th of January when the sudden and unexpected news of the killing of the Sardauna Sokoto, the Premier of the Northern Region was announced over the Radio Kaduna.
