IGP Egbetokun Summons Kaduna MOPOL Team Caught Receiving Cash From Chinese Nationals*

 The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has summoned the Provost of 1 Police Mobile Force (MOPOL) Kaduna, along with DSP Aliyu Adejembi and his team, over a viral video that shows them collecting cash handouts from Chinese nationals.

The officers were reportedly in Lagos on special duty with the Chinese businesspeople when the incident occurred. The video, which has since circulated widely online, shows members of the police unit queuing visibly as they receive money from the Chinese individuals, sparking public outrage and raising concerns over the professional conduct of the security operatives.

A police wireless signal dated April 15, 2025, confirmed the development. It reads:

 *“Professional misconduct x discreditable conduct x eye respectfully convey INGENPOL directive x that you warn x release x Provost 1 PMF Kaduna x to come along with DSP Aliyu Adejembi x and team x to interview INGENPOL x through PRESSFOR x unfailingly x on Wednesday 16/04/2025 x at 0900HRS.”* 

The message, marked “very important,” instructs that the summoned officers appear without fail before the Inspector General on Wednesday, April 16, at 9:00 a.m., for a formal interview regarding their involvement in the incident.

The video has triggered fresh calls for greater accountability within the Nigerian Police Force, with many Nigerians demanding swift disciplinary action and systemic reforms to curb bribery, extortion, and abuse of power within law enforcement.

The Nigeria Police Force is yet to issue an official public statement regarding potential disciplinary actions, but sources say an internal investigation is already underway

ATTENTION: PHASE TWO OF THE 100 YEARS CELEBRATION. The Phase two of the centenary celebration of the iconic school, (for the benefit of the elder alumni), the former Elementary School,  the Middle School, the Provincial Secondary School, PSS Yola, then the Government Secondary School, GSS Yola and now General Murtala Muhammad College, GMMC Yola, which will be the crowning series of activities to mark the 100 years of the great school, is scheduled to be held in the last week of December, 2021.
