THE GANG-UP AGAINST ATIKU ABUBAKAR, WAZIRI ADAMAWA, FORMER VICE PRESIDENT, THE PDP PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE IN THE 2023 ELECTIONS.

Former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar

The 2023 general elections might have come and gone but the ripple effects, the national cries and joys it has left Nigerians with will take a long time to forget. Indeed it has already engraved the national ethos of failed promises and empty talks by the leaders, the so called winners of elections. When Nigerians reflect on the dismal and disappointing performances of the former President Muhammad Buhari, the APC Government of the past eight years, many teeth are gnashed in regrets to ever voting PMB/APC into power. Nigerians were looking for a reformed INEC so that they would use their powers of voting to remove the APC Government from office, February 2023, but alas, INEC, in collaboration with PMB, as the head of the disappointing APC government and the naira magic performance of BAT, ensured that all the tricks up the sleeves are brought to bear and BAT is declared President FRN.

In doing so, Wike, the wicked and vicious former governor of Rivers State and four other PDP governors in tow, who were all tools in the hands of BAT, from whom in return they demanded and got juicy promises, fought to ensure PDP Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar's PDP votes are scattered to other political parties and/or neutralized during the February 2023  Presidential elections.

Not only that, the biggest gang-up against Atiku Abubakar was the Peter Obi's Labor Party presidential bid, accentuated by the Igbo hang-up hatred for Northern, Muslim candidature and wild youth agenda. If not for Peter Obi's inordinate ambition, he could have easily become Nigeria's president in 2027 if he remained in the PDP. As it is daily revealed now, his chances in 2027 is slimmer.

The gang-up against Atiku Abubakar, Waziri Adamawa at the home front, the North is even more disturbing.

Northern Nigeria is divided into three political zones made of groups of states based on geography, history and cultural affinity. Silently, there are other grounds for division; religion, sociocultural/history etc. The broad zoning of North West, North East and North Central has pitched the zones against each other, which in itself is a good strategy for development but here in the North,  it has been extended to fierce undercurrent jealousies and denial of other zones to prosper and contribute to national development. Herein lies the vehemence of the North West zone against the emergence of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Waziri Adamawa as President FRN despite the massive primary votes he got from the North West zone.

During the Presidential campaigns, the core North West busied itself, silently, campaigned against Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Waziri Adamawa, giving flimsy reasons such as that Atiku Abubakar is not a Nigerian; in the past, some in the North West claimed that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is not a Muslim and such other negative campaigns to make the majority illiterate, gullible voters to refuse voting for Waziri Adamawa whom majority wanted to vote for.

The North West has produced many leaders representing Northern Nigeria in Nigerian politics, starting from Usman Danfodio, whose religious movement brought twelve Provinces of the North under his influence; Sir Ahmadu Bello the Sardauna of Sokoto was Premier of Northern Nigeria and the leader of the ruling party, then at the Federal level, the NPC, where he selected his representative, Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa to go and be the Prime Minister of Nigeria. Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa was the only Nigeria's leader from the North East. Atiku Abubakar Waziri Adamawa is the next Nigeria's leader (Vice President FRN) coming from the North East after Tafawa Balewa. Otherwise, all Nigeria's leader/heads of State coming from the North were from the North West zone except Gen Yakubu Gowon from Plateau, North Central Zone.

Name them; Gen. Murtala Muhammad, Alhaji Shehu Usman Shagari, Gen.  Muhammad Buhari, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida, Gen. Sani Abacha, Gen. Abdulsalam, Umaru Musa Yar'Adua were all Nigeria's heads of State of Northern Nigeria origin but all coming from the North West zone that gang-up against Atiku Abubakar, Waziri Adamawa from emerging as President of Nigeria coming from the North East. Against, hitherto, the usual Northern solidarity, North West voted massively for BAT coming from the South West zone. When next a North West candidate vies for Nigeria's leadership, North Eastern Nigeria will be called upon to vote for him in solidarity.

Were it not for the gang-up, backed up by the PMB and APC Government machines to support INEC messing up the election results administration against all odds/promises for a free and fair elections based on effective use of BVAS, which INEC deliberately manipulated, brazenly, directing aggrieved parties to go to courts where justices have been compromised. Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Waziri Adamawa was the clear choice of Nigerians as  President FRN. Going to courts where 'justices have gone in hiding' is the biggest fraud and avoidable nonsense that incumbency has forced down the throats of Nigerians.

Nigerians should know better the next opportunity in a general elections. It is absurd, most current Nigerian politicians are looking for political offices not to serve the people but to make personal gains, money from the public treasury through corruption. As such politicians are ready to amass money in preparation of buying votes to perpetuate in power. Working to develop the nation is never part of their agenda. Politicians getaway with such warped mindsets as the impoverished masses sell their votes not even to the highest bidder but to any buyer. As a result, the wrong set of people get voted to manage the affairs of Nigerians.

The most qualified, by all indices, of the last presidential election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar Waziri Adamawa, faced a relentless gang-up against him from five PDP governors who normally should have worked for PDP victory during the presidential election. Governor Wike of Rivers State and four other PDP Governor of Benue, Oyo, Enugu and Abakaliki, out of personal ambition threw party solidarity to the winds and sold their states PDP tickets to APC presidential candidate, Bola Ahmad Tinubu. That was a strategic sell out from the PDP camp. The PDP campaigns organization did not see the trap set, hence the PDP's unresearched responses to Wikes taunting's. The other gang ups been the incumbency APC Government led by PMB, the billionaire BAT the APC presidential candidate and worst of all INEC the election umpire on one side and the jealousies of the Northwest politicians.

The most qualified Presidential candidate in 2023 general elections, Atiku Abubakar, was the Vice President of the country for eight years and chaired the government agencies that birthed positive developments for Nigeria like pay off of the depts., the GSM regime etc. With a Masters degree from Oxford University against NNPP Presidential Candidate Kwankwaso's PhD in Water Engineering and LP Presidential Candidate Peter Obi's Bachelor degree in Business, Waziri Adamawa stand tall. Waziri Adamawa is a consumate business mogul, an entrepreneur and an happy philanthropist who sought for the office of the President FRN to serve the people and not for primordial gains. It would be seen if he would be convinced to run for the fifth time, with a robust health, good relationship with majority of Nigerians and remarkably running businesses.
