The former Middle School Yola has under gone several mutations in nomenclature. Starting as the Middle School, a male boarding senior primary school in 1920 it metamorphosed to a secondary grammar school with a broader curriculum. It was established initially to give western education to the citizen of the province and beyond. The aims and objectives were expanded to provide the man power needs of the colonial administration and that of the soon to be independent Nigeria. All my hopes and entreaties for patience, tolerance and reconciliation in my hometown Numan failed. Numan is where Bachama farmers and Fulani herders have clashed, leaving a deadly trail. The expected Fulani reprisal on the Bachama indeed came and it has been even more bloody and deadly. The armed herdsmen attacked in broad daylight and literally mauled the common folk in their path. Northern Nigeria's movie industry, known as  Hausa Cinema , was one of the first commercial film industries in sub-Saharan Africa. The industry was created by veteran journalists and actors from Radio Kaduna and RTV Kaduna in the 1950s. Today actors such as  Ali Nuhu , Adam A Zango, Sani Danja, and Ibrahim Maishukku are popular within the region. Since the 1990s the slow rise of  Islamic fundamentalism through the proselyte campaigns of the Izala Society , Northern Nigerian cinema has witnessed considerable setbacks and has now been dwarfed by its Southern Nigerian counterpart.
