New Cameroon State of Ambazonia: Dawn of a New Era
REVEALED: How Obasanjo signs off Adamawa, Borno and Taraba to Cameroon
The 72-hour ultimatum given by US to Cameroon to withdraw her military from the Anglophone North West and South West territories of the country expired over six days ago.
Neither the US nor Cameroon has reacted to the expiration of the deadline as both countries kept mum over the issue.
The Cameroonian National Assembly has however, made few concessions in education and judiciary at an extra ordinary session last Friday.
The speaker of the National Assembly, Cavage Yeguie Djibril has told the Cameroonian government to fully implement the new law on decentralization that seeks to grant greater power to local councils and regions.
Biya signed the law on the promotion of pfficial language in Cameroon, settlement law of the Republic of Cameroon for 2020 financia year on Tuesday, December 24, 2019.
The bill addresses the creation of assemblies of chiefs, regional assemblies and councils with each of the two territories having elected presidents, vice president, secretaries and public affairs management controllers.
But this is against the 72-hour US ultimatum that has directed Cameroon to pullout her military "immediately and unconditionally". This was according to approval in a resolution of an Act authorising President Donald Trump and US Department of Defence for President Paul Biya to comply.
It has been reported that the major armed groups, Red Dragons, Tigers and Ambazonia Defence Forces(ADF) have rejected the Olive branch waved at them by the Cameroonian government.
The rejection by the armed groups is not far fetched.Against the backdrop of strong support by the US and a possible connivance by the United Nations, they know that history is beckoning on them.
The United Nations according to reports has promised to actualise a new UNO State of Cameroon on July 10, 2020. The locals have already named the state Ambazonia.
The UN has conceived the new state as far back as in March 2003 when former UN Secretary General, Kofi Annan was reported to have quietly invited Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, then the Nigerian president and President Paul Biya of Cameroon to sign documents respecting the boundaries of their countries. The two presidents may knowingly or unknowing had signed these documents to cede their territories to the new UN State of Cameroon.
In Nigeria, the landmass extends from Bakassi Peninsular in Cross River state (which Nigeria had earlier ceded to Cameroon during the tenure of Obasanjo) to Gambouru/Ngala Lake, Chad region.
This area extends to 24 local government councils in Borno, Adamawa and Taraba states. Part of the councils are Gwoza, Bama, Ngala, Kala/Balge, Dikwa, Madagali, Tongo, Mayo/Bawa, Ganye, Mubi North, Mubi South and Michika.
The UN, no doubt, has kept an eagled eye watch on the territories since 2003. The current Secretary General of the UN, Antonio Guterres has commenced the process of sensitisation towards the July 10 date of creating a new state for the Anglophone separatists.
According to reports, Guterres has continuously reached out to the UN representative in charge of the territories, Prof. Martin Chia Ateh to constantly organise sensitisation workshops on brief history of UNO State of Cameroon.
There is no smoke without fire, the UN is a serious organisation, a world government and if it is constantly fingered as an interested party in the arrangement to create the nation of Ambazonia, the Nigerian government should carry out an investigation to establish the facts surrounding the purported case of carving out 24 local councils in three Northern states to join the new proposed country.
